Missed the company bus today and had to make my own way to work.
Fell face down while walking and trying to avoid stupid tree branches in the way.
Smashed my face and got it all bloodied.
Blood poured from my nose, cheeks, chin and lips.
The pavement scratched my glasses and it cut my cheeks.
Thank God some stranger came by and passed me a bottle of water to rinse my wounds. Some department head drove by and helped me into the reception area.
Blood poured.
I managed somehow to stop the bleeding and dress my wounds while still in a daze.
Colleagues came by to see me, saw the disfigured state I was in and went into gag mode. LOL.
Safety Officer refused to let me go Polyclinic although the department head made arrangements to have someone send me out to the clinic.
I suppose they thought an injury around the compound meant extra paper work for them.
But the fact was, I fell due to the uneven pathway and badly mantained trees around the compound.
Ugh.
My face hurts.
My ugly face.
